Wow, 60 weeks!

I’m still in the repatterning phase right now, but I got in some really solid reps last week. I’ve still got quite a few issues in my throwing pattern, but the results have been encouraging so far.

I’ve taken a lot of video each week, and my arm is starting to move better, my glove side, and hip/shoulder separation are improving, but still have a long way to go as you can see in the video below:

The heavier plyo balls are definitely helping with feel and I’ve consolidated the cues I have for myself so I’m just trying to be patient and put in my reps. One of the other things I’ve been working on is trying to move more athletically through my delivery, so I’ve been adding some more athletic movements like run and guns. For now they’re being done at low effort while I work on the pattern, but at low effort I’ve been getting more comfortable with them. I did some at about 75% effort on Monday and got to 90mph, which was a solid number for me at that effort level.

In the weight room my focus has stayed on power, improved rotation, and athletic movement.I think that as I start to see higher numbers on my med ball throw variations I’ll see higher throwing velo as well. I’ll get some video of that next week so you guys can see what I’ve been working on. I still do a few heavy sets each session just to maintain max strength, but they’ve been more difficult than usual since I’ve been doing them late in the workout because the other movements are the priority. This has forced me to focus a bit deeper than I would otherwise need to so that I make sure I give max effort and focus to each of these sets.

Thank you for following me on my journey to the show! Check back later this week for more content!
