It’s the end of week 13!

Great week this week and the first week of my power block.

This week I got into my power block so it’s a little bit different than previous weeks. I’m handling lighter weights and the focus is on moving them fast. It was good but I’m going to tinker with it some because I think I could get a bit more of a training effect with a bit more volume and weight-especially with my assistance work.

This upcoming week I’m going to test my power numbers again and see where they are. I expect to see a jump because of the added strength but I’m going to pull in my expectations some because I know specificity is important as well and to this point the focus has been on strength.

This was my first week doing velo testing off the mound and it was ok, but my mound numbers and flat ground numbers were the same. The peak was 91 mph on both. Again, this comes back to specificity and I expect to see a jump in my mound velo soon but I just need to get off the mound more.

My plyo numbers and other testing numbers in my throwing program have been steadily increasing so I know I’m close to breakthrough off the mound I just need to keep getting after it.
