It is the end of week 16!
A few weeks ago, I noticed a lump above my non-throwing elbow. I saw an orthopedist, and after an x-ray and an MRI, the doctor determined that I had a benign peripheral nerve sheath tumor, and that I would need surgery to remove it. Today was my surgery.
The surgery went well, and I am currently resting. I have a follow-up with the surgeon in 10 days, upon which I will find out about the pathology of the tumor removed. But, as of today, the surgeon seems to think that it is Bartonella, also known as Cat Scratch Disease.
This makes sense, because a few months ago I rescued a stray kitten, and in the process I was bitten and scratched. After we made sure he didn’t have rabies I figured I was good to go, and didn’t think about it again.
This will serve as a forced deload week, because I can not lift anything with my left hand. So, about a week from now I will get back to my lifting and throwing and I’ll take this week to get my body feeling good.
Since I hit a bit of a stall with velocity anyway, this deload should help me come back a little bit more fresh and break through some plateaus.
Thank you for following me on my journey to the show! Have a great weekend and I will get back to this when I am fully recovered.
