Week 23 is ion the books!

Another solid week of training under my belt. I’m still working on power as that is my limiting factor in terms of gaining velocity. My strength levels are more than adequate, but my power is below where it needs to be. This week the goal on my main lifts was 6×3 at 0.95 m/s. On all of my main lifts I was happy with the weight amounts as they were above what I was expecting.

I’ve also been doing more lateral bounds and rotational work and the specificity of those exercises has been very helpful. I’m glad I built my strength base as much as I did in the beginning of this off season, but I probably could have added in these explosive movements a bit sooner.

As far as throwing goes, I’ve been having some lateral elbow pain because of my finish. I’m finishing locked out instead of bent and pronated so I’m working through that. This week was mostly fixing that issue and the intensity was not super high as I was staying below the pain threshold. Next week should be back to high intensity and making gains.
