I’m through 42 weeks now!

Last week was a solid training week. I figured a few things out and have what I think is a pretty solid plan moving forward.

As you guys know my velo has been down lately, which has been driving me nuts because how I felt and what the radar gun was saying just didn’t match up. I know I’m not mid 90’s right now, but I also know I’m probably 90+ even on relatively bad days. However, the radar gun has not been agreeing with me. Well, I tested my gun against another last week and there was a big difference between the two, so I’m trying to get a new one this week.

Also, there are some mechanical flaws/velo leaks happening as well. Ben helped me out some last week by looking at some video. What he found was that my upper body is about 20 degrees more open at landing than it was last year. So that’s slowing me down for sure, and I think I’ve got a plan together to fix that. I’m going to be hammering on hip/shoulder separation for the next few weeks and go from there.

Lifting has been going well too. I’m enjoying being in the weight room and feeling strong again. I’m hitting my explosive movements and getting to lift heavy stuff as well. My power numbers are climbing, so that’s positive for sure. I’m going to retest my lateral bound, vertical jump, and broad jump this week and see where they’re at.

Thank you for following me on my journey to the show and stay tuned for updates this week!
