It’s the end of week 44.

It was a pretty good week. About a week and a half ago I had Rob, who is a physical therapist friend of mine, do an assessment on me. It was great to be able to compare it to my previous assessments and see areas that were improved and a few areas that still need improvement.

For the most part I have the necessary mobility and strength and comparing it to an assessment after my second pro season I’ve made major improvements. But he also found some things that no previous assessment had found. My neck has been giving me some trouble and my head position and movement throughout my delivery has always been an issue. I’m missing a fair amount of range in my neck so he helped me make a plan to get that corrected. Also, my forearm was pretty tender near my ulnar nerve so he looked deeper into that. We found that my UCL was stable, but my flexor tendon needed some work. So at his direction, I’ve added eccentrics for my flexor tendon and nerve glides to get rid of some of that sensitivity at the ulnar groove.

Throwing was solid last week. I got a new radar gun and the readings are back to where they should be. I even PR’d in a couple of my plyo drills, which was very encouraging. I didn’t end up testing pull downs on Friday due to flexor tenderness, so I’m working through that now. It’s frustrating, but at least now I know what the problem is.

As far as lifting goes, last week was a deload week, so nothing super impressive to report. But I think I’ve found a way of training that works best for me and allows me to maximize my progress. I’m using explosive movements and training for power, but also getting to work up to heavy weights in my main lifts.

Thank you for following me on my journey to the show and check in later this week for an update on pull downs!
