Last week was week 48 and the first week I’ve hit my throwing as planned in a few weeks after a deload.
It was great to feel healthy again and be able to push. My numbers weren’t amazing or anything, in fact on Friday they were down, but it was awesome to be working toward improvement again. Now that it’s warming up outside I’m able to long toss again, which feels pretty great. Long toss just seems to help me be more athletic and throw with looser arm action, which is always an issue for me.
On Friday I did my pull downs for the first time in a few weeks and it was great to be back at it but my numbers were down. I think it was a mix of things. I hadn’t thrown with serious intent in a few weeks so that’ll take a bit to feel right again. Also, my heart rate was out of control on Friday. It was a mix of nerves because I hadn’t done it in a while and I wanted my arm to feel good. And my body just felt tired from the week, like my CNS was just done. This week I’m going to change some things that I’ve been playing with the day before my big throwing days and see if it makes a difference.
Last week was my planned deload from lifting, so I’m ready to get back to it today. I definitely needed it, like I said by Friday I was dragging. I’ll be sticking with a mix of heavy weights and high speed movements throughout this next block. It seems to be working well and I’m enjoying it.
Today I’ve got my plyo testing day and I may have to move it inside so I’ll put something up later in the week about it.
Thank you for following me on my journey to the show, and check back later in the week for more content!
