I’ve been plugging away for 62 weeks now!

I’m still working through some issues in  my delivery right now, but I’m getting closer every day. As I’ve been working towards this goal there has been a ton of frustration and some days I think back to when I was throwing my hardest and I was feeling good, and I just want to pull my hair out. But, then I think about how much more dialed in my training is now than it was then and I realize that without all of these failures and bumps in the road I would never have gotten to this point. Once I’m fully healthy I know I’m going to put up some huge numbers because I know what my limiting factors are now and I’ve been hammering on them.

For me these limiting factors are mobility, my hip/shoulder separation, and explosiveness/intent. That last one may be hard for some people to understand, but since I’ve been throwing at a relatively low intensity for an extended period of time now finding max intent will be something I have to work on once my body is ready for it. Things are starting to feel better and I’m getting closer to my best mechanics.

Here’s some video of some lower effort walking windups from yesterday:

In the weight room I’m working on improving my power and getting strong through the positions I need for max velo. I’m segmenting certain pieces of rotation to help with proprioception and power. The big focuses of this upcoming block is to improve single leg power, rotational power, and specific mobility thatI’m lacking. I’ll also handle some reasonably heavy weights as I do throughout the year to maintain strength, and one or two movements to maintain muscles mass.

I know I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m close and I’ll continue to push my boundaries until I achieve what I know I’m capable of.

Thank you for following me on my journey to the show, and check back later in the week for more content!
