I’m 64 weeks into this journey!

For the last few weeks I’ve been working on reatterning and getting pain-free. I’m getting closer and closer every week, and this past week was probably my most satisfying week so far, because I could actually see and feel changes happening. My whole throwing pattern is starting to improve and work together and it’s really awesome to see my hard work paying off in the form of real changes.

My arm feels loose and easy, and the ball feels like it’s jumping out of my hand, which I haven’t felt in a while. My lower body is starting to do it’s part, and I can feel separation to greater degree than I ever have-that’s not say it’s actually better right now than it has been, but I know what it should feel like. Body awareness improvements are certainly a start.

I’ve been using low effort long toss to warm-up before I get into my drill work and I’ve been getting to 300 feet at about 50% effort, which is pretty great for me. I’m excited to see where the velo is when I start testing that in the next few weeks. The main thing that will need some work is intent, since I haven’t been at max effort in a while and it usually takes me a week or two to get back into the groove. Once that happens I’m going to be putting up some big numbers!

Here’s a video of one of my plyo drills from last week:

The weight room portion is coming along nicely too. My strength numbers are holding and in some cases improving, and my power numbers continue to improve. I was up to 300lbs for 3×3 on reverse lunges last week, and I expect to improve on that this week. I also set PR’s in single leg broad jumps and the lateral bound variation I’m using right now. My med ball numbers have been up and down, but I think that’s mostly due to the fatigue from them being after my heavier throwing sessions. Unilateral strength and power have been missing for me in the past, so now that I’m bringing those up to par with the rest of my training metrics I think I’ll see a nice jump in velo.

Like I said I’m excited for the progress I’ve made so far and I can’t wait to show the progress I’ve made! Thank you for following me on my journey to the show, and check back this weekend for more content!
