It’s the end of week eight! Which also means the end of cycle two.

It’s been a solid week of training. I’ve upped my throwing intensity and long toss distance and seen solid velocity for only my fourth week of throwing.

Today I did pull downs at full effort for the first time during this program and had mixed results. My arm didn’t feel great but for this point in my training I’ll take it.

I do pull downs out of my pitching motion rather than from a crow hop because I feel like it has more carry over to velocity off the mound. So here’s video of me at 91mph with a 4oz ball:

It was a bit of a slow day today, so I’m sure Monday I’ll put up better numbers.

On to lifting…

I’m definitely glad this block is over. The mental struggle of squatting and deadlifting to failure is brutal and I’m glad that next week I won’t be doing it anymore. I feel like I’ve gotten a lot stronger, but it’s time for volume in the weight room to come down some as my throwing volume is going up.

I’ll be testing some power numbers next week to see where I’m out so that’s exciting as it’ll be another data point to let me know how I’m doing. I expect most of them to go up at least slightly, but it’ll be good to see.

As usual check out my homepage for my performance metrics and feel free to hit me up in my “Work with Me” tab if you’re interested in training with me. Anyway, thanks again for following me on my journey to the show and have a great weekend!
