It’s the start of week 29!

Great start to the week so far! PR’d in a few of my plyo drills and hopped off the mound for a few and was 90-92 which is great for a Monday (usually my numbers are higher on Fridays), and getting back up toward where I need to be.

Part of what I think helped me was a higher arousal level, because I had a small audience on Monday. I PR’d in rockers, and then in walking windups as well. Walking windups hadn’t been a strong drill for me in the past, but I’ve been focusing on them more recently as I think they’ll have the greatest transfer to the mound. On Monday I hit 95mph with the gray plyo ball during walking windups, which is a PR by 3mph. And had I gotten to the mound prior to at least one of these drills I think I could have had slightly higher numbers as well.

Along with the focus on throwing drills with the best transfer to the mound I’ve added more rotational and single leg movements to my training as well and they seem to be helping. I think I stayed with some of the bilateral lifts too long this offseason, which made me stronger than I’ve ever been, but has also not transferred to the mound as well as some other movements may have. I don’t know this for sure, but it’s something I’ve considered recently.

Anyway, have a great week and thanks for following me on my journey to the show!
