It’s the start of week 48!

So I guess the first thing I need to do is update you guys on my deadlift attempt from last week. I was going for a 500lb single and I ended up working up to 540lbs!

It felt pretty good and I definitely left some in the tank. I know that having a 500lb deadlift isn’t necessarily going to help me throw 100mph, but the mental barrier that it helped me break through probably will (more on this later in the week).

Anyway, this week has been great so far. I was able to plyo test yesterday for the first time in a few weeks. My numbers weren’t PR’s or anything, but it was nice to be able to throw at full effort again. We’ll see how I recover as the week goes on, and how I feel for my pull-downs on Friday.

I’ve been hammering on drills that separate my shoulders and hips since after Ben looked at video he noticed that my shoulders were more open at landing than in the past. They’re starting to feel pretty good and as long as I can stay healthy I expect to see some big numbers relatively soon.

As far as lifting goes, it’s a deload week so I don’t think there’s a whole lot to report so far. I’m going to move the weights fast this week, but they’re relatively light and the volume is a bit lower. Deload weeks are necessary, but they’re not super exciting so I’m just going to keep my intensity as high as possible even though the lifts won’t be as taxing.

Thank you for following me on my journey to the show and check in later this week for some more content!
