It’s the end of week 21!

This week I finally got back to making progress from the mound! I hit 93mph twice today, which was very encouraging because the last few weeks I’ve had to really grind for 90mph.

As I said earlier this week I’ve been in my own head recently so I knew I had to improve my mindset, which I did this week. I got my mind right before testing, I was in a good mood and thinking positively.

Honestly, I didn’t even feel amazing physically. But, I knew I could still throw really hard today. I watched this documentary about Eddie Hall, who is a strongman competitor and the current world record holder in the deadlift. On the day he broke the record he had just flown from Ohio to Australia after having disappointing results at the Arnold in Columbus. He was feeling tired and beaten down, but the event organizers wanted him to go for the record and he wanted to try as well. He went to pull it and the bar just kept rising until he locked it out and set the record.

This is what was on my mind today. So next week I’m hoping for a training PR.

Lifting was solid this week as well. I moved my upper body day to earlier in the week so that it would be farther away from my testing day, which I think helped as well. I’m getting more specific as I go and adding in more unilateral work. This week I moved to 1-Arm DB bench press from the swiss bar press.

Anyway, I’m feeling good about my progress this week and I’m excited to continue it next week. Have a great weekend and thanks for following me on my journey to the show!
